LFCC & SERT at Fleet Pond

Sunday 2nd June once again had the Loddon Fisheries & Conservation Consultative and the South East Rivers Trust taking part in the Wildlife day at Fleet Pond. We had collected some fish from the pond the day before for the tank display which consisted mainly of Perch and Dace with a couple of Rudd and Roach as well. Its a shame we didn't manage to find a small pike like last year. We did also come across some large carp and bream that were far too large for the for the display.

As well as the fish, there was the usual red signal crayfish that always gets the attention along with Dragon and Damsel Fly Nymphs, Diving Beetles, Common newts and Tadpoles amongst other things.

SERT brought along their Emriver model which also caught the attention of the public and provided some useful demonstrations on river flows and processes.

A big thank you to all of the public who came to visit us and for showing great interest on the displays and keeping us busy all day.

A big thank you to the volunteers, Martin, Ian, Moragh and Russ for their time and effort in setting up and presenting what the LFCC and SERT have to offer.
