River Nene - Castor Back Channel, A case Study
Like most east coast rivers. the Nene has a barbel population and like many rivers, it has been subject to a lot of unfriendly modifications over the years resulting in a loss or degradation of habitat. LFCC members will be familiar with the methods used to improve the river habitat and make it more fish-friendly. Like so many projects these days, this was a partnership involving a range of stakeholders. There are plenty of ideas here which could be applied locally.
