LFCC & EA Yateley Floating Pennywort Update Summer 2019
The LFCC has been actively supporting the eradication of Floating Pennywort around Yateley, and have been working closely with the EA, Blackwater Valley Partnership, Thames Water and the owners of the affected ponds over the past 12 months or so. So far this year there have been no reported issues on the River Blackwater, whilst the results of every bodies work at 3 of the 4 known affected sites are very close to achieving our eradication aim. We would strongly urge anybody who suspects they may have come across an incidence of this plant to report it as a matter of urgency. This plant has the potential to have a very serious impact on angling and the general environment of both rivers and stillwaters.
