Having read the various articles on the Environment Agency deciding to drop the proposed license fees for trapping crayfish and the responses given by those who took part in the consultation, it was easy to see this would be a no goer from the start. Maybe as clubs or individuals we should be pushing for traps to be issued to clubs or individuals. On those waters that are heavily infested with non native signals, its often been heard of some form of bait being thrown in upstream to draw off the crusty critters , so why not trap them at the same time during a fishing session. Certainly worth cooking them up at the end of the day and free food if you like that sort of thing.
Anybody doing this already?
