DEFRA Pathfinder Funding

LFCC has worked with the Loddon Valley Residents' Association and Wokingham District Council to develop sustainable approaches to flood risk reduction which can not just reduce the environmental damage flood prevention schemes have caused in the past but can actually enhance the environment and help to improve the WFD status of the catchment.  The Wokingham Flood Partnership has, through WDC, submitted an application for DEFRA Pathfinder funding to develop a "soft" approach to flood risk reduction, that is, one which works with natural processes and ecosystem functions to reduce flood risk in vulnerable, urban areas.  A summary of the proposed project can be found here.
