Sweden to sue EU for delay on hormone disrupting chemicals
It has long been known that chemicals we encounter in everyday life can have a detrimental effect on us and that includes hormonal disruption. This has also been shown to affect fish too and it appears to be a growing problem. Removing the chemicals from drinking water is expensive and adds to water bills but clearing the problem up for STW discharges could be very tricky and expensive so expect water bills to rise! It is not clear exactly how the Swedish government plans on taking the case to court but such things usually go to the European Court of Justice which has proved very powerful in the past, such as in stopping the Irish drift net fishery.
